Office of Mountain Guides of Imlil
An association created in the late 1980s in collaboration with foreign mountain guides. It was the first guides’ association in Morocco.
This association brings together around sixty guides, most of whom have been trained at the Training Center for Mountain Professions in Tabant and later in Briançon, France. Others have been trained by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Ski and Mountain.
Accompanied by a team of Berber guides and professional mule handlers, the Imlil Guides Association offers tailor-made tours ranging from a few days to several weeks. These tours will take you to Morocco’s most beautiful sites, allowing you to admire breathtaking landscapes.
To be a member of the Guide Office in Imlil, you must hold a guide diploma, which is obtained after completing a six-month internship at the Training Center for Mountain Professions (CFAMM) in Tabant, Morocco—the only such center in Africa for mountain guide training. However, it is exclusively for Moroccan candidates.
Many applicants strive to earn this diploma, as it is considered highly demanding, with a level equivalent to that of Mountain Guides in France.
